Ellie VanEenenaam had a passion for golf, so after she died of breast cancer, friends and family organized the Ellie Van Golf Classic.
The annual event raises money for breast cancer research.
Leslie McKinney and Peter VanEenenaam, Ellie's son, talked about the golf tournament on 7 News This Morning. You can see their interview in the video.
The event has donated over $100,000 to various charities over the past four years. This year it benefits the Walker Center for Cancer Care at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
It's Friday, July 20 at the Ives Hill Country Club in Watertown.
Registration is at 9 a.m. and there's a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
It costs $500 per team.
