Annual Juneteenth Celebration This Weekend

Watertown's fifth annual Juneteenth Celebration is this weekend.

Organizer Bianca Ellis and Micholas Credle, one of the celebration's narrators, explained what the celebration is for during an interview on 7 News This Morning.

You can see that interview in the video.

Juneteenth celebrates freeing the slaves after the Civil War. The day involves a narration of the history of the celebration, a guest lecture, and live performances.

It's from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 at the Ramada Renaissance Room in Watertown

It's open to the public and admission is free.
