Watertown Sees Record Heat

Watertown Sees Record Heat

Posted: Updated:

The National Weather Service says a record high temperature was set at the Watertown International Airport on this Independence Day.

The thermometer hit 91 degrees Wednesday, breaking the old record of 90, which was set in 1955.

Massena recorded a high of 92 degrees. The temperature climbed to 93 at Fort Drum.

If the heat is too much for you to take, consider this: the record low temperature for Watertown on July 4th was a very chilly 35 degrees.

Much of the north country is under a heat advisory for Wednesday until the evening hours.
