Blazing heat didn't stop the farmers' market in Henderson Harbor from opening for the season Thursday.
The "Our Harbor Farmers' Market" is in its fourth year and is held downtown in the West View Lodge parking lot.
Organizer Gail Smith says three farms were represented at the market and more vendors will be joining in the coming weeks.
In addition to produce, there were wine tastings, jewelry, pottery, and crocheted stuffed animals.
"Everybody loves it, they just love it," Smith said. "They come down here and they actually pre-order items. This is a different market -- we have specialty items down here."
The market is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday until August 30.
