Watertown Man Sentenced In Drug Case

Posted: Updated:

There will be no prison time for a 23 year old Watertown man who pleaded guilty in connection with a drug bust in the city.

Jeremy Chipp II was sentenced Friday in Jefferson County Court to five years probation.

He pleaded guilty in May to second-degree attempted criminal possession of marijuana and third-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

Members of the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force raided Chipp's 409 Clay Street home last November.

Officials said they seized 2.21 pounds of marijuana, $32,000 in cash, digital scales, a dagger and drug paraphernalia.

Chipp was originally charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Officials said the Clay Street home had been the focus on an ongoing drug investigation.
