Lowville Man Gets Prison Time For Sex Act

A 66 year old Lowville man is going to prison for sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Wayne Mihalyi was sentenced Friday in Lewis County Court to 12 years in prison and 20 years post-release supervision. He's also required to register as a sex offender when he's released.

Mihalyi pleaded guilty in May to first-degree criminal sex act.

He was arrested in January and was accused of forcing a 14 year old to have sexual contact with him.

The grand jury originally indicted him on the following counts:

- first-degree criminal sex act
- second-degree criminal sex act
- first-degree sexual abuse
- 3 counts of endangering the welfare of a child
- 3 counts of forcible touching
