The Town of Edwards Lions Club hosted lawnmower races Sunday. About 40 racers revved up to compete.
Along with the excitement of the races, organizers said those claiming the top prizes make a show out of their win.
"When they go out there and they burn their tires on that clay, because they will sit there and squeal their tires when they win," said Jim Whitford, president of Edwards Lions Club. :Then they spin around in circles, it's it's wicked."
The lawnmower races are the lions Club's biggest fund raiser. The club is expecting it to bring in about $1500.
