Hogansburg Man Draws Prison Term In Massena Attack

Posted: Updated:

The last of four involved in a home invasion last year that gravely wounded a Massena man was sentenced Monday in St. Lawrence County Court.

Richard Herne, 37, of Hogansburg was sentenced to 13 years in prison and 5 years post-release parole.

Herne had earlier pleaded guilty to robbery and assault.

That is the stiffest sentence meted out to the four suspects charged and convicted in the case.

The four attacked two men in a Massena apartment with a machete and shotgun in August 2017.

One of the two men, Anthony Lewis, suffered critical wounds.
