Watertown city lifeguards are working to keep kids cool -- and safe -- in the water.
Summer swimming lessons started at the Watertown Fairgrounds pool, teaching kids different levels of swimming.
Lifeguard Kristyn Chiappone says seeing the results is the best part.
"Most of the kids really enjoy it -- they have smiles on their faces and they like the process," she said. "It teaches them about water safety and then also how to swim, so if a situation does come up, they can handle it."
Lessons at the fairgrounds continue through July 27.
