Live: Jefferson County Fair's Opening Day

Live: Jefferson County Fair's Opening Day

Posted: Updated:

The first day of the 201st Jefferson County fair is underway.

Vendors and organizers have been busy setting everything up. There's much more entertainment to expect this year.

7 News anchor Jeff Cole was live at the fair during 7 News At Noon and said there was a pretty good turnout even though it had only been open for a few hours.

The food court was particularly busy. In the video, Cole gives us a rundown of what people can have for lunch.

Admission is free again this year. Fair officials say an additional 20,000 to 25,000 people turned out for last year's fair, which was the first time admission was free.

The fair is open 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. each day through Sunday, July 15.

You can look forward to live reports from the fair during our First @ 5 and 7 News This Evening shows.

You can see the complete fair schedule at jeffcofair.org.
