A staff member at Sunmount in Tupper Lake is accused of abusing a client.

State police say 21 year old Nicholas Mellon of Tupper Lake allegedly pushed and injured a 33 year old man in April.

Mellon was arrested Monday. He worked for the state Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, which operates the Sunmount facility.

The victim's arm was bruised and his neck was scratched. He declined medical treatment.

Mellon was ticketed for second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent person. He will appear in Tupper Lake town court at a later date.
