Posted: Updated:

Two people were arrested on drug and firearm charges in Depauville based on tips from residents.

Members of the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force say they raided a home at 32455 Caroline Street -- also known as County Route 179 -- after Depauville residents reported they suspected drugs were being sold there.

The home was occupied by 33 year old Samuel Orr, Hailey Sanchez, and a 7 year old child.

After a search, police seized more than $3,000 in cash, 27 grams of heroin, two handguns, a shotgun, and a .22-caliber rifle.

They also found digital scales, packaging material, and an electronic grinder.

The adults were each charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

They were scheduled for arraignment in Clayton town court Wednesday afternoon.

The child was turned over to the mother, who lives elsewhere. Child protective services will be contacted.

Police expect to file additional charges as their investigation continues.
