Update: Slic Phone Service Restored

Posted: Updated:

Update: As of 1 p.m., Slic officials tell us, service has been restored to all customers.

Phone customers of Slic Network Solutions could be experiencing problems.

At around noon Thursday, Slic CEO Kevin Lynch said the company doesn't know how many customers are affected. The outage started around 9:30 a.m.

The problem is affecting emergency and non-emergency lines at the fire and police stations in Massena.

That's according to a Facebook post by the union that represents Massena's permanent firefighters.

Anyone with an emergency should dial 911, the post says, so central dispatch can handle the calls from there.

People can stop by the fire or police stations for non-emergency reasons.

Lynch said the problem is with one of Slic's partner companies and affects inbound calls.

He said he doesn't know how long it will take to fix the problem.
