With Lewis County dealing with a spike in opioid related deaths, experts say it's crucial to educate young people about the dangers of addiction.
"Make sure that they have a strong family attachment, that they're connected to their schools, they have good peer relationships and that they have stuff to do in the community," said Korin Scheible, executive director of Mountain View Prevention Services.
According to preliminary state data, Lewis County has the highest rate of opioid related deaths in the state based on population.
