Go-Kart Driver Overcomes Obstacles To Race

Posted: Updated:

When Johnson Wilson of Kempville, Ontario comes to Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville to race his go-kart, he crosses more than just an international border.

Wilson, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, crosses a physical barrier, too.

He started racing soon after he was diagnosed in 2009 and has adapted his go-kart to compensate for his muscle loss.

Wilson has had plenty of success at Can-Am, with a race win and a spot near the top of the points standings.

In the video, Wilson and his father, John Wilson, both talk about overcoming obstacles for success on the track.
