Great Video: Frog Jumping Contest, Bed Race at Antwerp Old Home Day

Not just people were hopping to Antwerp Saturday.

There was a frog jumping contest at the village's Old Home Day.\

Each person was allowed to bring their own frog and enter it into the competition. 

Very simple, the frog that jumps the farthest wins. And for those who didn't have their own frog? Some extra jumpers were waiting in the wings for a partner..

"Fun, it was Slimy," said 10 year-old Javontae Moore.

Then there was the bed race which brand new this year to Old Home Day.

 Race cars literally made out of bed frames and mattresses were scooted down Main Street. Out of the four teams racing the Antwerp Volunteer Fire Department took home the title.

These events were happening to welcome friends and family back home to Antwerp.. The goal of Old Home Day is to bring current and former residents back to their roots.

"I get to see a lot of people I don't see a lot. It's like coming home for a lot of people," said Michael Stoffel, member of the Old Home Day committee. "Everybody gets together, it's just a great, pleasant, day, and you get to reconnect with a lot of people,"

Money raised from the event support Operation Restore Antwerp, which helps find ways to improve the area.
