A Jefferson County sheriff's deputy who stopped to check on a car that was pulled to the side of the road ended up being hit by the person inside.
Deputies say 26 year old Tyniqua Henderson of Fort Drum allegedly struck the deputy several times while being arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Deputies say it happened Saturday morning on State Route 126 in the town of Watertown.
Besides DWI, Henderson was charged with resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.
She was arraigned in town of Watertown court and released pending a court appearance later this month.
