Massena Man Arrested In Alleged Pellet Gun Shooting

Posted: Updated:

State police have announced the arrest of a Massena man they say was involved with assaulting a woman with a pellet gun in the town of Brasher Monday.

Troopers say 23 year old Jordan Wheeler was charged with third-degree assault.

He was arraigned in Brasher town court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $1,000 bail.

State police say they're continuing to investigate the case.

Sources told 7 News Monday evening that a second person was also in custody after fleeing to nearby Franklin County. St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary Pasqua said Tuesday that the second person was not charged and has been released.

7 News had been told that the woman was shot in the face. She was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, but we have been unable to confirm her condition or whether she is still in the hospital.

It happened around 2 p.m., reportedly inside a trailer home on County Route 53, also known as the Brasher-Helena Road.
