It's called a "Shelf Stable Food Project," a drive to help feed senior citizens during the winter months.
Lewis County's Office for the Aging is collecting non-perishable, nutritious food items for its food project.
The food will go to the office's home delivered meal participants.
Officials with the Office for the Aging say they want to collect as much food as they can before winter hits.
"Just in case we're not able to get to them, at least they have something on hand that they can use so they don't have to skip a meal," Molly Mallette, nutrition services coordinator.
Lewis County's Office for the Aging will collect food items until October 19.
