Alleged Copper Wire Theft Leads To Arrests

Posted: Updated:

Two Ogdensburg men are accused of stealing four spools of copper wire from a Lisbon solar project.

State police say 22 year old Jared Dewey and 21 year old Cody Lovely allegedly stole $2,500 worth of wire from the Positive Energy Solar Project on County Route 28A.

They were each charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and arraigned in Lisbon town court.

Dewey was released, but police say Lovely allegedly had a suboxone pill, so he was also charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and violating a state public health law.

He was sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $1,000 bail.
