A 53 year old Ogdensburg man has been arrested in connection with a meth lab explosion in his apartment.

Joseph Fleming of 412 Lincoln Avenue, Apartment B is charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Members of the Ogdensburg fire and police departments were called to the apartment at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday for a report of smoke.

Their investigation determined a “one-pot” methamphetamine manufacturing operation failed, exploded and caused small fire. The blaze was extinguished by the resident before police and firefighters arrived.

Fleming was arraigned in Ogdensburg City Court and was released to the supervision of probation.
