The 2018 Summer Bash was capped off with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Mayor Joe Butler did the honors as city officials and the Watertown Housing Authority celebrated improvements at East Hills Apartments.

A number of quality of life upgrades were made and a new basketball court is open.

200 backpacks were given away along with school supplies.

Families and kids enjoyed games and other activities.

"Just running around and doing some fun stuff," said Jeremy Nival, who lives in Meadowbrook Apartments.

"We played games and we're about to go on the water slide," said Kameron Daley, who lives in Meadowbrook Apartments.

Mayor Butler and City Councilman Cody Horbacz christened the new basketball court with a game of HORSE.
