Authorities say a 2-year-old child in the town of New Bremen was sent to the hospital after being hit by oncoming traffic.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department says on Friday evening, a child who was pushing a stroller suddenly walked onto State Route 812 on a blind hill . Authorities say the driver didn't stop in time.

The child was treated at Lewis County General Hospital for unspecified injuries and released.

Sheriff Mike Carpinelli says no one was at fault and no charges were filed.
