Antwerp Man Resists Burglary Arrest, Troopers Say

Posted: Updated:

State police say they were forced to taser a combative Antwerp man while they were arresting him in connection with a burglary.

Troopers say 43 year old Nathan McElhone resisted arrest after they found items in his car that had allegedly been stolen from a garage on Route 11 in Antwerp.

Police say the owner of the garage had identified McElhone as a suspect in the burglary and they found the stolen items in a car parked in front of his Main Street home when they went to question him.

McElhone was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, resisting arrest, and second-degree harassment.

He was arraigned in Pamelia town court and taken to Jefferson County jail.
