Man Accused Of Using Victim's Computer To Make 'Vulgar' Posts

A Malone man is accused of using a St. Lawrence County resident's computer to make what authorities call "lewd and vulgar" posts on the victim's social media accounts.

County sheriff's deputies say 35 year old Carl Smith allegedly tampered with the other person's personal computer on Church Street in Hermon last week.

Smith was charged with third-degree criminal tampering.

Deputies say the alleged tampering caused "substantial inconvenience" to the computer's owner.

Smith was arraigned in Hermon town court and jailed on $750 bail or $1,500 bond.

The court issued an order of protection against him.
