Man Charged In Prescription Drug Sales

A man is accused of selling prescription drugs from a Potsdam convenience store.

Potsdam police say an undercover investigation showed 39 year old Caley Winans of Rutland, Vermont was allegedly selling alprazolam, also known as Xanax.

Police say he allegedly had 119 alprazolam pills when he was arrested and police seized a total of 195 pills.

Winans was charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned in Potsdam town court and jailed on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
