Indian River Lady Warriors Have Big Hole To Fill

Posted: Updated:

High school winter sports practice started Monday.

At Indian River, the girls' basketball team has to learn how to deal without Paige Leonard.

When the 25-point-a-game scorer graduated, she left a big hole that could be hard to fill.

"There's no way that we're going to replace Paige Leonard, that's not going to happen," Coach Jim Whitley said.

"What we are going to be able to do is -- everybody's going to have to step up their game a little bit."

You can hear details from the coach in the video, plus a look ahead from players Nia Gray and Claire Moran, who are happy to get the new season underway.
