Turnout is expected to be higher than usual for a midterm election.

Polls opened throughout New York state at 6 a.m. and will close at 9 p.m.

Watch the video for a roundup of how things looked at midday as reporter Erin Bischoff reported live during 7 News At Noon from Midtown Towers, one of Watertown's polling places.

7 News will have results as soon as they're available -- both on air and online. We'll have CBS national coverage starting at 9 p.m. and we'll scroll the latest local results on the bottom of your screen.

We'll have live coverage from both the congressional and state assembly races at 10 p.m. on our sister station, WNYF, You North Country Fox, and at 11 p.m. on WWNY.

You can find WNYF on Spectrum cable channel 2 or on channel 28 on most other sources.
