Cinema Ten Screens - First Reformed

Posted: Updated:

Cinema 10 screens First Reformed (2017) at 7:15 p.m., on Monday November 12th, in the Roxy Theater in Potsdam.

Directed by Paul Schrader, this is the eighth film in the fall 2018 series.

From the acclaimed writer-director Paul Schrader (Taxi Dirver, Raging Bull), First Reformed stars Ethan Hawke as Reverend Ernst Toller, who moves to a small upstate New York town to lead a congregation. After a harrowing encounter with an activist, his life begins to spiral out of control, causing him to question not only his faith, but his whole identity. Ian Freer of Empire calls First Reformed a "powerful meditation on faith's place in the modern world" and Chris Vognar of the Dallas Morning News writes, “this is a movie about faith tested, and people trying to reconcile hope with a world that can feel hopeless."

First Reformed (2017) is 108 minutes long and is rated R for disturbing images.
