Fort Drum Honors Veterans During Ceremony

Posted: Updated:

Past and present veterans were honored Thursday in a ceremony on Fort Drum.

The ceremony was held in front of the Mountaineers Monument at Memorial Park.

Soldiers presented the colors, followed by a wreath-laying to honor all veterans and then there was a 21 gun salute.

Retired 10th Mountain Division Lieutenant Colonel Michael Plummer served in the Army for 31 years.

"Today we honor all who served and are serving in the defense of our great nation in peace and in war, our veterans," he said.

Veterans Day is on Sunday this year. It's being observed by schools and many businesses on Monday.
