Church Helps Community With 2 New Traditions

Church Helps Community With 2 New Traditions

Posted: Updated:

The Christmas tree is decorated with hats and gloves instead of ornaments. It's one of the new things Calcium Community Church is doing to lend a helping hand to the community .

"There are people that we don't stop to think about that are having a hard time at this time of year and this is one small way we can help," said Pastor Milton LaSalle, Calcium Community Church.

Members of the church have been collecting hats and gloves to put on the tree that is now at the Calcium Post Office.

"If you need something, take it from the tree. If you've got extra, you can add it to the tree," said LaSalle.

The church also added a prayer box on its front lawn last week.

"To me, as I said, prayer is something we can do for others, anybody, anytime," said LaSalle.

Anyone can make a prayer request. All you have to do is write the request on a piece of paper and drop it inside of the mail box outside the church and church members will pray for it at their bible study.

They are two new traditions at Calcium Community Church to help others have peace of mind this holiday season.
