It's a creative way for kids to start giving for Christmas.
Kindergartners at North Elementary in Watertown are making ornaments this week.
From pine cones and glitter to styrofoam and pipe cleaners, kids are building their decorations from scratch.
One teacher says while it's a fun exercise, it's also a good lesson for the kids.
"A lot of times the holiday, it's about them, what they get, but this is a chance for them to make something and share it with their family as well," said Nikki Patrick, kindergarten teacher.
Family members were invited into the school to make ornaments with the kids.
