Fishcap Report, Week of 5/22/14 - 5/29/14
Crappie fishing great in rocky bottom shallows near shoreline, as fish heading in to spawn and waters not as high. Northern pike fishing very good – reports of 50 fish caught in a day. Fish bigger shallow bays. Mepps spinners working well.
Walleye at 35’, hitting stick bait or crawler harnesses with nitro-green crawlers. Use three-way swivel with deep-diving Reef Runner at the end of an 18-inch leader and a Stinger spoon at the end of a three- to four-foot leader – creating two lures with one running deep and one shallower above.
At Pulaski, king salmon fishing very hot; fish hitting nearly anything. Fish at 100-foot depth; salmon hitting at 30- to 40-feet .
Pickerel and pike fishing very hot in White’s Bay. Pickerel weighing more than four pounds reported.
