Black Lake

Bluegills on fire as they move into the shallows to spawn; an annual event that lasts for about two weeks.  Use 1/64th-ounce jig tipped with a piece of worm or spike. Reports of daily catches of 100 fish.

Raquette River

From below Massena to Raymondville, hot for walleye, northern pike, and catfish. Use red and white Daredevils and orange Mepps spoons. Catch catfish with cut bait.

Oswegatchie River

DEC has stocked lots of trout in the river where it flows out of Cranberry Lake. Best to use flies size 12 Stimulators or size 0 silver Mepps. Northerns gobbling up trout in Cranberry Lake itself.
