On Friday, September 24th, over twenty company dancers and family members from Rhonda's FooteWorks dance studios traveled to The Egg Performing Arts Center in Albany, NY. They went to watch Lowville native and studio alumni, Braden P. McDonald perform for one of the final times with the Mark Morris Dance Company. The dance students were thrilled to watch the company and acknowledge the achievements of a "home town" dancer.
On Saturday, Braden taught a Master Class for senior company dancers from Rhonda's FooteWorks in the Lowville studio. Following the class, he offered a "Meet and Greet" session where dancers and local people had the opportunity to hear about his career, ask questions about the profession of dance, and have individual photographs taken with Mr. McDonald.
"Brady" began his career at age 5 with Donna Foote, Rhonda's mother. Later, he began studying ballet and modern dance with Rhonda before attending The Buffalo Performing Arts School. Mr. McDonald is a graduate of The Julliard School; recipient of The Princess Grace award and has danced with Jose Limon's Company; The Alvin Ailey Company, and is wrapping up a prestigous ten year career with Mark Morris Dance Company.
Braden will be attending the Fashion Institute in LA and pursuing a new career.
