Picnics with the family

losing my home of 16 years

My story is long but ill try to make it short. We've been here for 16 years. Everyone has ups and downs. We are both disabled but we try not to let that stop us. I became disabled 1st in1997. In 2005 my husband got hurt, worked until 2007, until he couldnt do it any more. Applied for workmans comp and thats what took so long and put us behind in our payments. By the time we got it all our bills were so messed up. We applied for the home owners modification in 2008, and that time we were eligible. After 8 months or so they made me reapply. It got drug out for more than a year and by the time all our papers went through the uderwriters we received "you are not eligible." We were so far behind in all our payments it felt like a lost cause. I called every help and hope hotline, counselors, housing counsils, even in Watertown with no help. Im not asking for a free home or even a $100.00 mortgage. Im just asking for a lower intrest rate and put the money we owe on the back of my loan. "no" we dont do that. My government bailed out my bank, why cant my bank help me out. If there's anything you guys can help me with please contact me im desparate. The worst part is my house is falling apart. Roof leaks, cellar floods, windows falling out, some outlets dont work, ceilings are falling down and worst of all black mold. Why would they want a home that aint worth what I owe? Please help me.
