LARGE GRASS FIRE IN TOWN OF RUTLAND

A little after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010. A bright orange glow appeard in the sky off the Bast Road and Middle Road, Town of Rutland/Town of Champion. Arriving near the scene overlooking a dry field covered by fire and smoke. Several fire departments were on the scene and in the field.

Watertown Citizen:Don't go by just what you've heard.Go by what you actually know first hand. The firefighters were indeed there helping with water and hoses in hand. A fire as this would have been way out of hand if left to dirt only.Think about it.

From what I hear the firefighters didn't even do anything, they just watched the owners of the land throw dirt on it.
