Members of the Jefferson County chapter of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club raised $2500 for Meals on Wheels of Greater Watertown during their 8th annual charity poker run held on August 14th, 2010. The Warthogs are a law enforcement and firefighter club that raises money for local charities through generous donations from local businesses. Several of the members are Corrections Officers and Corrections Supervisors and would like to acknowledge generous donations from the Watertown C.F. and Gouvernuer C.F. NYSCOPBA and Gouverneur Council 82 union locals. NYSCOPBA is the labor union that represents Correction Officers and Sergeants, Council 82 represents Lieutenants. The Warthogs were also able to raise another $500 for Jefferson County Sheriff’s and Watertown Police Department’s D.A.R.E. programs this year, and would like to thank all of the businesses and organizations that participated.
