I was taking pictures during the recent snowfall on Friday morning of the Oswegatchie River, as viewed from the Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur. Along came what I thought was a log, but upon closer inspection when I loaded the photo on to my computer, it is definitely NOT a log! I am not sure what it is but it definitely has some unique carvings etched into it. My best guess is that it is at least 3ft long and is possibly some sort of animal carcass. I zoomed in as far as I could with my lens (200mm) and this was the best I could do. So, if anyone has any ideas as to what this could be, please share because I would love to know! It's a bit creepy and very weird to look at! The reflection in the water makes it very symmetrical and nearly 3-D.
