On Saturday March 5th, local dancers from the Dance World Showstoppers team competed at Dance-X-Plosion Competition at the State Office Building in Watertown, NY. For many of the dancers, this was their first competition experience.
All of the dancers received an Extreme Gold award and several solos, duets and groups recieved additional awards. Many students recieved high scoring overall awards such as: 7th Overall Highest Scoring Senior Solo, 7th Overall Highest Scoring Junior Duet/Trio, 1st Place Overall Highest Scoring Junior Large Group, 3rd Overall Highest Scoring Junior Duet/Trio and 10th Overall Highest Scoring Teen Small Group. Two groups recieved 1st Place Division Trophies and one duet received a special judges award titled "Bound for Broadway." One soloist received an invitation to participate in the 2011 National Title in New Jersey. This honor is given only to the Top 10 solo winners. The dancers have worked very hard this past year and it shows in the results they received. Congratulations!
