On Thursday April 7th, 2011 Morristown Central School will be participating in a Day of Silence to protest the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning students and their supporters. Students will take a day-long vow of silence to symbolically represent the silencing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning students and their supporters. This national Day of Silence is specific to ending bullying and harassment of students, particularly physical violence and verbal threats. We have approximately 25 students signed up. This is a national event and GSA's (Gay Straight Allinces) accrosed northern NY.
