Residents of the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg recently learned that there are two main positions of a hula dance—either sitting (noho dance) or standing (luna dance) when they entertained by Voss Ka’ilianu Fernandez (singer and guitarist), along with several area youth dancers (olapas). Residents received leis and were treated to a Hawaiian luncheon consisting of Coconut Shrimp, Huli Huli Chicken, Long Grain Wild Rice, Vegetable Stir fry, Shrimp Lo Mein, Salad Greens with Raspberry Vinaigrette, and Dessert.
