Staff from In Motion at the NYC 2011 Dance Teacher Summit

In Motion is ready to put you in motion!

Staff from In Motion School of Dance are back from a 4 day trip to New York City and ready for the new dance season! Office staff attended 3 days of seminars while dance faculty participated in varying classes designed for dance teachers and studio owners at the 2011 Dance Teacher Summit. Owner and Director, Shereen Daly, finished her 5th trip to the conference as energized as ever. Assistant Director and Director of Ballet for the school, Tricia Moore, completed her 4th conference visit. Both admit that there is such motivation in the air that it is hard to know what great ideas to share first! Junior teachers Savannah Grant and Meagan Sloan participated in their first trip to the summit and returned with a better background on planning their own classes and more.
Although In Motion is entering its 12 season of teaching dance in the Watertown area, some teachers bring as many as over 15 years of experience. A combined experience of teaching staff at In Motion is well over 30 years. Temporary staff member Shawna Hallinan has been a great asset to the school. She has been seen in hits such as Chicago, Guys and Dolls, and All Shook Up at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Her experience in the professional dance world is priceless.
The 2011-2012 dance season kicks off with Open House and Registrations at the end of August. Classes begin the week of Sept. 12, The Nutcracker will be Dec. 17, and the Spring Recital will take place on June 2. Interested in trying something new? Contact the studio for more information: 785-5513 or
