Boo at the Zoo

Boo! Don't be afraid. The screams you hear are squeals of delight, not fright. The NYS Zoo at Thompson Park and North Country Children’s Clinic are co-hosting the 3rd annual Halloween celebration at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park on October 22 and 23rd. Last year this successful partnership was able to raise just over $12,000 for the two organizations.
This two-day Halloween event targeted at children ages 12 and under is a non-scary event for younger children. Currently, the Halloween events available in the North Country region tend to be scary events targeting an older audience. The event will entail decorating zoo grounds and setting up a trick o’ treating “trail” which participants follow to pick up healthy treats. As trick o’ treaters travel the trail they will encounter costumed characters from familiar movies, TV shows and children’s literature.
The event will also include arts and craft stations and a refreshment tent serving cider and donuts.
