THis is our hideous couch. As you can see, it's not even really a couch anymore. My grandfather built it over 70 years ago from wood on his land up in Colton. My grandmother made the cushions, 3 of which had to be thrown out because they were filled with sand, straw and paper, lol. There is the one original left on the back, which is falling apart and leaking the filling. I had two new ones made. We cant quite figure out how to make the back taller, i don't know how my very tall grandparents ever sat in in comfortably. I attempted to sew covers for it, yuck. I'm no seamstress and the fabric faded quickly. Even though it's so very nasty, and the wood is all stained and pieces missing, I have a rocker and chair that go along with the set that my Grandpa Tapke made. It's all I have of him, all of the other gorgeous furniture he made. Someday I'd love to have it finished. And a real seamstress make nice covers for it. Until then, we need a nice, family friendly couch :)

Thanks for keeping the setee and rember that all of us used it for awhile too. All of you deserve to have a nice comfortable couch for the baby and Seth and you to share for the next 70 years.

This couch certainly receives my vote for the "Ugliest Couch" award. Kudos for trying to keep a bit of your grandparents with you, but I think you must deserve something comfortable. Good luck!
