Lewis County Hospital Foundation is one of the community groups receiving a grant from the Stewart’s “2011 Holiday Match” fund drive. These grants are designated to be used directly for children 18 years and younger.“In our grant application to Stewart’s, we suggested that “new-borns” have to be very closely monitored,” said Lorrie Stanford, LCGH Head Maternity Nurse. “Stewart’s gift will assist in acquiring a portable “photo-therapy” unit for our youngest patients. There is a growing need, since our maternity department had over 300 deliveries in 2011!”Rob Eger, Stewart’s Lowville store manager said, “Throughout the Stewart’s 20-county area, customers donated over $700,000 to the program, and the company matches each dollar. Making this year’s record total chain-wide over $1.4 million!”“The Holiday Match is a great community program, with several local agencies directly benefiting.” said Tim O’Connor, Executive Director. “We appreciate Stewart’s generous donation to assist our Foundation’s on-going fund raising efforts.”
