Rhonda's FooteWorks traveled to Liverpool, NY the weekend of May 5th and 6th to attend The Power of Dance competition. Director, Rhonda Foote, chose this competition to round out the company's season because, "The Power of Dance is most closely aligned to our studio's belief system and motto- Using Our Talents To Assist Those In Need In The Communities We Live In". Through this dance competition, Rhonda's FooteWorks was able to win titles, awards, contests and overall championships, all tallying points towards donations for their chosen charity, The Room To Breathe Foundation.
At the end of a very successful and gratifying weekend, these talented North Country dancers were able to raise $800.00 for their charity.
The Room To Breathe Foundation assists families of children in the VEPTR (Vertical Expansion Prosthetic Titanium Rib) Program. Senior Company dancer, Madison Draper, is part of this program and has undergone 39 major surgeries. The RFW dancers had a personal reason for dancing their best this weekend, and it showed!
A personal note from the director to the Company best states the feeling of the event:
"Congratulations to all of my dancers... Overall champions, title winners, special awards, Dance Off Champs, choreography award, entertainment award, Most Entertaining Studio... And the most special award to me of all... Studio Spirit Award recognizing our sportsmanship, positive energy and acknowledging that Rhonda's FooteWorks dancers have a true love for dance and their fellow dancers. I Love You All!!!! - Miss Rhonda"
Rhonda's FooteWorks offers quality dance education in Watertown and Lowville, NY and will offer a four week summer program in Gouverneur, too.
