Dancers United from Rhonda's FooteWorks and Newton Dance Company on Saturday, June 9th to raise funds and awareness for Ben Towles.
The dancers were joined onstage by vocalists from Ticia Marra's Stage Notes. Donations from the audience, along with a vast array of silent auction items and a 50/50 raffle, raised over $1,500.00 for the South Jefferson High School Senior.
Ben has been battling cancer with courage and determination that the dancers from both studios have followed and found to be amazing and inspirational.
The event was a success far beyond the funds raised. The dancers made new friendships, and the community had the opportunity to see what can be accomplished when artists work together for a common cause.
Allison Newton, from Newton Dance Company, and Rhonda Foote, from Rhonda's FooteWorks, both look forward to another joint outreach opportunity in the future.
The studios are asking the community to join them on Tuesday, June 12th for "Believe in Ben" Day. On that day, Ben will undergo stem cell transplant surgery in Philadelphia, PA. To show him YOUR support, please wear green that day and write "Believe In Ben" on your left arm.
Ben's plight has touched the hearts of so many. Dancers Unite, Helping to Fight was one of many events in the community to support this amazing young man.
