Community Restores Playground

Volunteers from the Clifton-Fine community worked together on Saturday August 24th, 2013 to help restore a playground for children in Newton Falls. A new space whirl was purchased with funds received from a grant by the Health Initiative’s “Creating Healthy Places St. Lawrence County Project” which is funded by the New York State Department of Health.
- A special thanks goes out to the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative and Director Karen Bage, the Adirondack Community Church and Pastor Dave Downey, Wanakena Woodworks and Sherm and Annette Craig, the Town of Clifton Highway Department, the Town of Fine, the Newton Falls Fire Department and Chief Jeff Provost, Bob and Marion Provost, and the 40+ volunteers who came out to return this playground to a safe and fun place for children to play.
