Compare these two pictures of the scenic Tibbets Point Lighthouse. This lighthouse in Cape Vincent, NY resides at the confluence of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.

Tibbets Pt. light has been a regional and NY State icon that has proudly represented the incredible beauty and significant history of this town and the 1000 Islands region. In addition, it is a significant symbol of Great Lakes maritime history, having stood in this location for 182 years. Yet in only a few months the rampant and uncontrolled wind energy development of the Wolfe Island Wind Farm on the Canadian side of the river ruined this monument forever.
Careless and greedy wind developers simply disposed of this treasure, by throwing it on the ever expanding garbage pile of similar environmental disasters.
Cape Vincent town officials, many who have blatant conflicts of interests with wind energy developers, have a similar environmental disaster planned for the American side of the river.

There should be a law against changeing your address for the sake of voteing for money. I plan to find out who switched and to see how long before they switch back and then maybe start a lawsuit myself. If nothing else it is unethical and corupt.

Urban Hirshey may win the Supervisors position by buying votes and getting wealthy summer residents to switch their address to a place where they spend a few months but will he be able to keep this town in the black or will he put us back in the red.

to tell that the angles are slightly different and there is no way it is a real pic. This was fabricated by the Hirshey Squirts for the benefit of their own wealth. Another case of the rich people getting what they want while the less fortunate lose.

Are you people crazy or have you never been on the water in the Cape Vincent area. I have been all summer and at any angle it looks nothing like the photo. If you look at the sunset photo and then the ones with the windmills you should be able

Kris the picture was taken from behind Tibbitts Point, probably the Wilson Bay area, the windmills are the Wolfe Island windmills which is the point. They look huge even though they are actually miles away.

Actually, I've seen the ones on Wolfe Island. They are on Canadian soil, so there isn't anything anyone can do about that. However, there are not any turbines behind Tibbets Point as the above photo shows. I'm sure you noticed that on your walk.

I just went for a walk down the Tiibbets Pt Rd. in Cape Vincent. Oh look,what are those huge towers over there on Wolfe Is. Oh yes, those are the "fictional" wind turbines Kris was referring to...just wanted to make the clear!!!

Kris, The residents along Tibbett's Point, and Cape Vincent are not dealing with a "fictional" view. The turbines on Wolfe Island are real and approximately 2 miles away. Go look for yourself or get on Google Earth and measure the distance.

Note that the photo of wind turbines behind Tibbets Point is a fictional rendering. Currently, there are no turbines even close or far from the lighthouse. Just wanted to make that clear.

Keep in mind the turbines are 3-5 miles behind the lighthouse in the second photo yet in size perspective still dwarf the lighthouse. Just Imagine the turbines standing 500 feet from the house. Eye opener isn't it?
